The Bow High School Music Program requested permission for the high school band and

The Board reviewed the Budget Status Report.

The School Board/Long Range Planning Comm. selected a construction manager, MacMillin

Company. There is a meeting scheduled for October 18, 2000.

Mark Lefebvre reviewed the technology upgrades and new items in the district. The

The committee will develop a plan for use of our website by non-school groups.

Mark Lefebvre updated the Board on recent developments including continuing programs.

The next meeting is scheduled for November 29, 2000.

SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT

Supt's. Report

The Commissioner of Education, Betty Twomey, presented Sarah Bragg a Milliken Foundation

Award at an assembly held at BES on October 4th. The award is presented for teaching

excellence. The award included a check for $25,000.00 and an all expenses paid trip to Los

Angeles to participate in the Milliken Family Foundation National Education Conference.

The elementary school received the Blue Ribbon School Achievement Award for the amount

of volunteer hours given to the school.

On Oct. 9th, the Language Arts and Reading teachers attended a workshop conducted at

Bow Memorial School by Linda Rief. Ms. Rief is a nationally known authority on writing. She

is also the author of Seeking Diversity, Vision and Voice.

Statewide assessment results for grades 3, 6 & 10 are being released on October 18th.

The high school faculty has voted to have Intercession from January 31st through February 2nd

This decision was made to take some pressure off the spring schedule that is an extremely

busy part of the school year.

The Golf Team won the Class M State Championship.

Humanities teacher Denise Fournier has a piece being published in an anthology entitle,

The Heart of the Matter.

Teacher Donna Girard has been notified that her website, "Schooligans.com" has been

selected for inclusion in an issue of www.4kids.org - distributed by UPS.

Old Business

The Board reviewed the NHSBA Resolutions and Mr. Crepeau received input from the

The Transportation Committee met and reviewed previous school district procedure. The

this request. Mrs. McMillen referred to RSA 189 that states that this must be voted on

at the Annual School District Meeting by residents of Bow. The Board will continue

with the current process regarding bus routes.

The Bow School District will post all school property with respect to the letter from

The Board reviewed the Athletic Director's Annual Report. The Board congratulated Mr.

Kaufman for a good job on this report.

The Board decided, due to time constraints, not to appoint a new community member to

Currently there is a shortfall from the State of NH of $23,000 in building aid for this year.

The Board will hold budget work sessions on the following dates: Thursday, November 16,

Work sessions will be held at the BHS media center and begin at 6:00 pm.

Christopher Parkinson moved to join in the partnership with Rebuild New Hampshire, a
