Multiple Intelligences

Children that have a strength in a particular type of intelligence may be drawn to, and excel in, certain types of activities. According to Howard Gardner, these intelligences are as follows:
Musical Intelligence-This type of child loves to sing, hum, or chant. They can better receive and retain information if presented in a musical genre.
Linguistic Intelligence-This type of child appreciates the use of words and language. They enjoy all forms of reading and writing activities.
Spatial Intelligence-This type of child relates best to art and creativity. They enjoy drawing, designing, crafts, and all forms of visual presentations.
Logical-Mathematical Intelligence-This type of child sees patterns and likes to figure things out conceptually. They enjoy computation and brain-teasing challenges.
Body-Kinesthetic Intelligence-This type of child expresses and learns best through movement and touching. They are athletes, actors/actresses, and hands-on learners.
Interpersonal Intelligence-This type of child is a communicator. They are leaders and love to socialize and learn in cooperative groups.
Intrapersonal Intelligence-This type of child is in touch with her/himself. They prefer solo activities and work best all by themselves.
