Bow Schools Foundation

Background

Increasingly, public school systems
are turning to foundations to generate
additional funding for their schools. The
Bow School District Foundation was
established in April 2007. The purpose
of the foundation is to create a tax deductible
mechanism for which funds can
be raised to support the public schools of
Bow over and above the municipal town tax
system. It is a way to solicit funds from
people in the greater community who support
education and are looking for ways to
support worthwhile projects or initiatives.
The town of Bow already
enjoys the wonderful support from other
groups such as the Bow Pops, PTO, and
Bow Boosters Club. The new foundation
is not intended to compete with or replace
these valued supporters. Rather, the
hope is to solicit larger business
interests for major grants and also to
include our growing alumni population.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Bow School District
Foundation is to provide enrichment and
enhancement of educational programs and
opportunities for students and
teachers by securing and distributing
financial and other resources. The intent
of the foundation is to supplement and not
substitute traditional District funding.
