Materials Technology

Typical Prerequisite's: None
Students will develop and apply problem-solving skills in the design and construction of objects from various materials. Students will explore the different materials technology subjects; for example, the transformation of raw materials into the common products we buy everyday. Students will gain experience processing wood, metal, and plastics. The format will be one problem involving each of the following; woods, metals, plastics. A brief introduction to the principles of Computer Aided Manufacture will be part of this course as well.

Building on the skills students have learned in Material Technology I, students will continue to learn the proper and safe use of power tools to transform raw materials into useful products.
