Administration
Mr. Kirk Spofford, Principal
Mr. Spofford has been an administrator at Bow Memorial School since 1989 and the school Principal since 1991. Prior to coming to Bow, he served as a teacher and administrator at Bishop Brady High School for fifteen years.
Mr. Spofford's academic preparation includes a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature from St. Michael's College and a Master's Degree in Education from Antioch University.
As the father of three adult children and one grandchild, Mr. Spofford enjoys his family and keeping track of their respective exploits. An avid reader, Red Sox fan, and a collector of American and Asian antiques, he keeps occupied with a wide spectrum of interests.
Mrs. Donna Girard, Assistant Principal
Although new to the BMS administration this year, Mrs. Girard is in her 20th year in Bow. Her teaching career began at Bow Elementary School in 1986 where she taught first and fourth grades for six years. In 1992, she began at Bow Memorial where she taught sixth grade Reading, Math, and Social Studies for six years and Computer Literacy for four years. After serving as an administrator for the past five years at Bow Elementary and D.J. Bakie Elementary in Kingston, NH, she has returned to BMS as the Assistant Principal.
Mrs. Girard is a lifelong learner, holding a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Notre Dame College and a Master of Education Degree in Computer Technology and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership, both from Plymouth State University.
Married for 33 years, Mrs. Girard always enjoys getting together with family, especially her two grown children and parents. She spends her spare time learning new technology and perusing education web sites. When not using the computer, she enjoys reading and walking on the beach.
