Grade 8

It’s already January in my eighth grade year at BMS. I guess I’m glad that high school is still a long way off. Or is it?  I’m hearing about upcoming grade 8 events that signal we’re getting close to the end of the year. That gives me a tingle in my stomach—kind of a mix of being excited and scared at the same time.

The teachers are talking about midterms at the end of the month. Last week we took a notice home about the legendary Sargent Camp being held May 17-21 and a parent info meeting about it on February 2. We even just filled out a survey for Career Days. A sure sign that we’re close to being freshmen is choosing our high school courses, and we’re doing that in February!

Another sign was the Annual Spelling Bee and GeoBee assemblies this month. Yearbook kids are even taking pictures of us waving goodbye for the last page of our yearbook!  The Talent Show will be soon.

This year really is going by fast. It’s like the older we get, the faster the years go by. I want to be a freshman, but not too soon. Besides, it’s snowing out and I want to go sledding. Snow day tomorrow?
