Guidance

Eighth grade students are preparing to make the transition to high school. During the first week of February, the school counselors at the high school will visit with the 8th graders in math classes to inform them of the course selection process. Students will learn what courses they will be required to take as well as which electives will be available to them. This is an exciting time for the students as they look ahead and prepare for next year and beyond!
The Leaders In Prevention (LIP) students have been busy working on a number of activities to promote a healthy lifestyle and a positive school climate. LIP students announce a quote of the week each Monday morning to inspire students and staff, giving everyone a little something to think about. The quotes are then displayed on the LIP bulletin board. Members are busy at work preparing and rehearsing for their play REWIND, which addresses peer influence, healthy choices, and responsible decision-making. They will perform for the entire 5th grade in early February.
