Deadlines for 2006 -2007 SAT's

Registering for the SAT's a link listing testing sites, dates, times, what to bring to the test, and how to access scores after testing.

Taking the ACT's the ACT assessment is designed to assess high school students' general education and their ability to complete college-level work. The test covers four skill areas: English, Mathematics, Reading and Science. New this year is the writing assessment, which is optional.

College Search and Application

Bow High School Profile- click to see what each college receives with every application. It explains everything about Bow High school; the town, testing information, courses we teach, colleges our previous students have gotten in to, etc.

 Filling out the Common Application, a general application that is accepted at over 250 Colleges and Universities across the country, including many regularly applied to by BHS students.

The Princeton review college search a website that can help narrow your field of choices for colleges and universities.

College Search through the college board another site that allows you to look at over 3500 different Colleges/Universities to help to narrow your search.

College Athletics

 

 The NCAA Clearinghouse has all the information you will need if you want to be involved in college athletics; courses you need to take in high school,SAT scores and the GPA that you need to be eligible in college for athletics in Division 1,2 and 3. If you plan on playing a sport in college, you must fill out the prospective student athlete form. You must also bring a copy of this form to Martha Rae in guidance, so that she can send your midyear transcript and your final transcript to NCAA.

Financial Aid and Scholarship Information

FAFSA on the Web - U.S. Department of Education this is a direct link to the official FAFSA site. You can fill this form out online anytime after January 1st of the student's senior year. It will not allow you to fill it out prior to this date. If you fill it out online, the turnover rate of getting your information to your colleges is much faster; usually 2-3 weeks. This is required by every student getting any form of financial aid: grants, loans, scholarships, etc.

New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation is an free organization located in Concord for NH residents only. They can help with every aspect of the college process; college search, college applications, essay writing, scholarship information, financial aid, etc. If at anytime you need more information on any aspect, and you can not get in touch with us here at BHS, they will know the answer. They also know much more about financial aid than we do. :)

New Hampshire Charitable Foundation this website lists state and local scholarships available to students who are NH residents. 1 in 3 students who apply receive some form of financial aid.
