What is ICT? ICT (information and communications technology - or technologies) is an umbrella term that includes any communication device or application, encompassing: radio, television, cellular phones, computer and network hardware and software, satellite systems and so on, as well as the various services and applications associated with them, such as videoconferencing and distance learning. ICTs are often spoken of in a particular context, such as ICTs in education, health care, or libraries. |
Where is my Digital Portfolio? Bow students will use their home directories as their portfolios. Every student already has a personal folder assigned to them when they log into the network, and that folder already has numerous artifacts which can be used in the ICT Digital Portfolio. However, some students will need to do some house cleaning to get their folders organized. What High School courses can I take at Bow High School to earn my required 1/2 credit in ICT? Ed 306.42 requires that all high school students (starting with the class of 2009) earn a 1/2 credit in ICT. Students can elect to have their Digital Portfolios assessed to earn the 1/2 credit, or they can take any course approved by the BHS Guidance Department as a qualified ICT course.
