or look through Book Nook basket to read summaries, located on backs of books,
that look interesting to you and your partner. |

your books to a quiet area to discuss and agree which book you will enjoy. |

Partners will decide to read a
chapter silently or together.
For each chapter, select a new literature circle job. Follow

Circle Process for tips on reading and discussing books. |

Create a book jacket that
is illustrated with your original work using colored pencil only.
Be sure the jacket includes the title, author, illustrator (your name),
with a summary of the story on the back page. On one inside flap
include information about Beverly Cleary. On the other inside
flap, rate the book on a 1 to 5 scale and make a
recommendation for other readers. On this flap justify why
Beverly Cleary is an award-winning author. Back up your statements
with facts and/or examples. |
