Bienvenidos.

Hola.

First for the future students interested in Spanish:

Spanish class involves learning the fundamentals of the Spanish Language. This elective class is the equivalent of Spanish I at Bow High School.  The goals of the class include reading, writing, and especially oral proficiency in the language.  In addition, the students need to understand some of the culture of the Spanish-speaking world, as well as to demonstrate an understanding of the differences between the Spanish and American culture.  Beginning now allows students the opportunity to take the highest levels of language classes at the high school without doubling up on their courses.

Students will be most successful in Spanish if they are willing to work hard and to try new things.  Excellent students often find Spanish challenging simply because it is so new.  Students will most likely have to study and review every night for approximately 20-30 minutes in order to become comfortable in the language.  If you have questions please email me at kdeacon@ bownnet.org.

Homework projects in this class may include:

Still to come this year will be children's books, puppet shows, and a final self directed project incorporating a unit of vocabulary.
