Ongoing studies:  journal entries, spelling and vocabulary, weekly adages, assignment notebook checks, first 5 minutes impromptu writing, writing skills, and literary analysis and responses.

We continue to:  read short stories, novels, and nonfiction, write response journals, narrative essays and persuasive essays, and position/research papers. We focus on writing succinctly and naturally in the active rather than passive voice.
