Child Psychology-This
course will provide students with the opportunity to study
human development. Students will examine the various stages of personal growth such
as cognitive development, social and physical growth. The main emphasis will be on
ages, birth until teenage years. The students will also be studying common physical
and environmental problems that are seen at a specified age.
Rubric for Learning Disabilities
Introduction to Foods-This course will study the basic techniques in preparing
foods. The emphasis will be placed on the value of knowing how to purchase, store,
prepare and serve food. Students will acquire skills that may be used in preparing
foods for everyday living to special occasions. This course is designed for the
student who has a limited foods background.

Fashion Merchandising-
This course is designed to introduce the students to a career in the clothing/fashion industry. Students will learn concepts of fashion design, clothing merchandising and promotion, as well as concepts related to managing a retail operation. The use of the computer in merchandising will also be introduced to the students. The course gives the student a broad overview of the role of merchandising at the retail level to include the many dimensions of the buyer’s job. The students will be required to design window displays, run a catalog business and to participate in the school stores fashion merchandising.

Interior Design-This course will provide students with the opportunity to explore various
architectural styles and principles of interior decorating. Students will plan and
design buildings, floor plans and develop a portfolio of the interior of a building. Click

Psychology -This
course will provide students with the opportunity to examine and study human
behavior. Students will explore the topics of personality development and
theory, psychological research and experimentation, altered states of
consciousness and abnormal psychology.

Creative Cooking-The students of Creative Cooking will expand their knowledge beyond what was learned in the Introduction to Foods cooking class. The course will provide an opportunity to research and sample various types of food from around the world. Students will prepare ethnic cuisine and learn such skills as candy making, cake decorating and gingerbread house design. The students will also be presented with the challenge/opportunity to design and operate a catering business of their own.
