Peace through Understanding

Summer '07 TechMentor Camp

November 13, 2006 I travelled to Tokyo, Japan to represent the Bow School District as well as the state of New Hampshire in the Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Program. Please know that I am happy to know that many of you travelled with me to Japan!

The Japan Journal below, will take you on the day by day adventure of my experiences in San Francisco (the Japan Consul General's Residence);Tokyo; Naha, Okinawa; Miyakojima, Okinawa; Kamakura; and Chiba. The adventure begins at the bottom of the Japan Journal link. There are many, many pictures. Enjoy.

A DVD is available for viewing. "The Japan Fulbright Memorial Teacher Program: Through My Lens" can be found at the three Bow School District Libraries, the Baker Free Library, and the NHTI Community College Library. This is a 99 minute two part video of my experiences. There is a special written narrative attached.

The Japanese government has been paying the way for United States teachers and administrators to learn about Japan and its schools first hand. Their hope is that the global education that occurs will foster peaceful, collaborative, understanding relationships between our two countries.
