Here we are at the Ryokan, an authentic Japanese Hotel. Ann Nesbitt, a Vice Principal from Connecticut, and I are having green tea and rice crackers while our roommate, Kristi Bothe, takes the picture.

Two long tables filled with food. We had special attire for the ocassion. Two layers of a kimono- type attire.

We were entertained by a 6th grader on the right, playing the Koto. She had taken lessons for 6 years.

We chose this special eveneng to give Moko-san a thank-you gift. It was a wallet made from the precious cloth in Miyako-jima. |
After dinner the women had a special sauna/bath together as was tradition. The men had theirs before dinner. It made for a very relaxing time at the end of th day.
