Yumiko

Yumiko just got off of work and came to the Keio Plaza Hotel to treat me to dinner. I was deeply touched.

We headed out to Shinjuku, the busiest area in Tokyo, just neaby. The Christmas decorations started to cover the city.

IMG_1358.JPG

We walked around for a bout 40 minutes trying to find the "right" restaurant.

IMG_1359.JPG

We certainly weren't alone.

IMG_1360.JPG

Nor was it dark!

IMG_1361.JPG

Taxi cabs were available to get us to our destination.

IMG_1362.JPG

We walked by many a store.

IMG_1363.JPG

She stopped to make a phone call to get directions.

IMG_1364.JPG

We made it. This was a little cubby where we both face forward. The menue was intriguing.

IMG_1365.JPG

We finally made a decision.

IMG_1369.JPG

The dinner came in a metal bowl which was placed over a flame and it included pork, chicken, mushrooms and other vegetables that we watched cooking in a miso broth.

IMG_1370.JPG

We truly enjoyed each other's company.

IMG_1371.JPG

Here is a better view of our whole scenario.

When we left we had to collect our shoes from a locked cubby. Shoes were not allowed in this place.

IMG_1373.JPG

Our shoes were in cubby #25.

No charge for the storage.

IMG_1376.JPG

We did a little shopping, as I needed to get authentic green tea. She bought Swiss Miss Cocoa because she could never find it and she loves chocolate.

IMG_1378.JPG

Such an electric city!

We decided on a taxi as it was nearing 10:15 and she had work in the morning. I believe she lived an hour away.

Sayonara, Yumiko-san, we will meet again.
