Yumiko just got off of work and came to the Keio Plaza Hotel to treat me to dinner. I was deeply touched. |
We headed out to Shinjuku, the busiest area in Tokyo, just neaby. The Christmas decorations started to cover the city. |
We walked around for a bout 40 minutes trying to find the "right" restaurant. |
|
We certainly weren't alone. |
Nor was it dark! |
Taxi cabs were available to get us to our destination. |
|
We walked by many a store. |
She stopped to make a phone call to get directions. |
We made it. This was a little cubby where we both face forward. The menue was intriguing. |
|
We finally made a decision. |
The dinner came in a metal bowl which was placed over a flame and it included pork, chicken, mushrooms and other vegetables that we watched cooking in a miso broth. |
We truly enjoyed each other's company. |
|
Here is a better view of our whole scenario. |
When we left we had to collect our shoes from a locked cubby. Shoes were not allowed in this place. |
Our shoes were in cubby #25. No charge for the storage. |
|
We did a little shopping, as I needed to get authentic green tea. She bought Swiss Miss Cocoa because she could never find it and she loves chocolate. |
Such an electric city! |
We decided on a taxi as it was nearing 10:15 and she had work in the morning. I believe she lived an hour away. Sayonara, Yumiko-san, we will meet again. |
