White-tailed Deer

Description: Brown with black markings. The underside of the tail is white.

Habitat: Woodlands and conifer swamps

Eating Habits: Grasses, weeds, shoots, fungi, nuts, and lichen

Predators: Bears and people

Protection and Adaptations: Camoflague with the woods.

Birth Rate: Usually only one fawn, but sometimes two

Interesting Facts: Deer carry their babies for seven months.
