Bow School to Career Partnership
2011-2012 Goals and Objectives
Goal I. Sustain a strong Partnership with active participation from all stakeholders.
Objective 1. Recruit and orient new Partnership members.
Objective 2. Chair and facilitate Bow School to Career Partnership meetings.
Objective 3. Facilitate outreach activities to heighten community awareness, involvement, and support of the Bow School to Career initiative as time permits.
Objective 4. Participate in business and education organizations such as Junior Achievement, Central NH School to Career Council, Bow Schools Foundation, and Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce.
Goal II. Support a continuum of school-based and work-based learning opportunities that facilitate age-appropriate career exploration for all students.
Objective 1.Support school-based learning experiences with Bow Elementary School.
a. Coordinate Junior Achievement “Our Community.” (Grade 2)
Objective 2. Support school-based learning experiences with Bow Memorial School.
a. Provide assistance recruiting speakers for Career Days as needed. (Grade 8)
Objective 3. Facilitate school-based, community-based, and work-based learning opportunities with Bow High School.
a. Develop opportunities for informational interviews, job shadows, and internships.
b. Develop internships for Internship Course. Meet with students, recruit businesses, conduct site visits, and serve as liaison with businesses.
c. Organize Internship Reception.
d. Assist with Career Exploration Day. (Grade 9)
e. Assist with Central NH Youth Career Expo. (Grade 10)
f. Assist with BEST 11 job shadows.(Grade 11)
g. Recruit speakers for BEST 12 Speaker Series.(Grade 12)
h. Provide feedback and technical assistance for Senior Seminar projects as needed.(Grade 12)
i. Provide career advising.
j. Provide information about career exploration forums such as Women in Engineering Day, etc.
k. Identify guest speakers and facilitate work site tours as needed.(Grades 9-12)
Goal III. Identify resources for faculty to enhance curriculum with business collaboration.
Objective 1.Share information about school to career opportunities and related professional development opportunities with faculty and staff.
